The Trip
The Washington D.C. trip is a very unique interdisciplinary learning experience. Whether you are studying political science, business, journalism, history, or biblical studies, you will learn a way to channel your passions into an effective means for change and social justice. On this trip we will:
* Contribute unique gifts and resources to the movement for social justice through the lens of political policies and programs.
* Learn the process of creating change through community organizing models that shape and guide people of faith toward movements for change
* Visit the headquarters of great nonprofits such as IJM, Sojourners and Bread for the World and learn how they are impacting a change within their respective causes.
* Lobby on Capitol Hill by meeting with your Representative Member of Congress according to your area to speak with them about a particular issue
Make your voice heard! Speaking out with members of Congress impact and educate their views on policy decisions that effect the lives of many people. Tangibly learn about the power to affect change in our government that we all have.
